Ginger

  • Ginger roots; raw ginger is used in homesteads and restaurants. Variated ginger rhizomes handled differently are extracted to give out products with different compositions that different users may need.

  • Ginger oil; encompasses different oils with different chemical compositions extracted for skin application, hair applications, cooking, aromas, and as a product base for other products such as perfumes, essential oils, essences and medicines.

Dried Nettles

Native populations of the Mau Forest in the Rift Valley have been gathering leaves and plants from the surrounding region for years. This includes nettles, which have long been a staple of Kenyan cuisine, even during times of drought. However, their usage has been dramatically curtailed since the early 1980s. This is owing to increased deforestation and the elimination of information about their culinary applications.

Ashwagandha

Withania somnifera, known commonly as ashwagandha, is an evergreen shrub in the Solanaceae family that is cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas. Ashwagandha root has been used in the traditional Ayurvedic and Unani medicine systems of India as an adaptogen, which is loosely defined as a compound or product that increases the ability of a person to resist, adapt, or become resilient in nonspecific ways to biological, physical, or chemical stressors.
